Inductive Fallacies
Last round of fallacies, everybody! Choose from the following: if your last name begins with A-H, write a Hasty Generalization; if it begins with I-P, write a False Analogy; if it begins with Q-Z, write a Fallacy of Exclusion. Then, debunk anyone else's argument.

Changing the Subject
Hi everybody! Tonight's fallacies are: Anonymous Authority and Style Over Substance. Choose one for writing and one for debunking!

Prejudicial Language and Changing the Subject
Hello, awesomes. Today in class we finished the Appeals to Motives in Place of Support with prejudicial language, and then we moved on to a new category, Changing the Subject. For tonight, Alondra and Nerizza'a row should take prejudicial language; Sarah's row should take ad hominem (abusive); Haikala's row, ad hominem (circumstantial); McKenna's row, ad hominem (tu quoque); the final row, appeal to authority.
Make sure that the argument you're writing is actually fallible according to the notes/definition, and then debunk anyone else's argument (also according to the instructions in the "proof").

Appeal to Motives in Place of Support
Write a fallible argument using either Appeal to Implications or Appeal to Popularity, and then debunk one other student's argument. Use the definitions and the proof from your notes to ensure that you're creating/debunking properly!

Fallacies of Distraction Part II
Today in class we looked at two fallacies: Argument from Ignorance and Slippery Slope. If you are in Alondra's, Nerizza's, or Sarah's row, write an argument from ignorance; if you are in Kris's, Michael's, or Lindsey's row, write a slippery slope argument. Remember: your arguments must actually be fallible, so write deliberately and consciously to that end.
THEN, debunk one other person's argument (this can be anyone's in the class).

Fallacies of Distraction Part I
OK, so here's how we do: Click on the "comments" button below and write a fallible argument for False Dilemma. Then, choose someone else's argument (anyone's) to debunk. Write deliberately and accurately please; that is, make sure that your argument is actually fallible and that your debunking is logical and effective, as per the notes.
When asked for your name/identity, I'd recommend clicking "Name/URL" and then you can simply type your name in the box. But make sure that you attach some recognizable identity to your comment so that we know who's talking.
I'll do the first one as a model.

Mr. Novacaine
This is a video of a song that my friend Don McCloskey wrote and recorded. It's very cool.
